You bring a robot simulation, with one robot or a whole crew. People pilot it from VR headsets, alone or as a team, and every attempt is kept as a checked episode. Teams that need data buy those episodes or fund new ones, and the money goes back to the people who built the world and played it.

Bring the simulation you already run.

Start from a task that already works, such as a robosuite environment on MuJoCo, or build a scenario from a world, your robots and a task with steps. Run ballot sim prepare, and Ballot uploads your project, builds it into a cloud runtime and checks the robots, controls, visuals and recording before anyone joins.

People pilot it, alone or together.

You share a private link. A pilot opens it in their headset’s browser and presses Join, and Ballot starts your world on its own cloud machine. Every robot type has controls made for it: grab a gripper target, drive with a stick, walk, fly. In a co-op scenario, each pilot takes a seat and controls one robot, and the team works through the steps together.

Every attempt becomes an episode.

Each attempt is recorded inside the simulation as it runs: what the pilot asked for, what the controller applied, the full simulation state and the task’s own result. A team run saves as one episode with a track for every seat. Episodes are checked, then replay in the browser long after the session’s machine has shut down.

Buy the episodes, or fund new ones.

A dataset is a specific set of episodes, and you can look at every one before you pay. Replay any of them, choose which to include, and pick a license and format.

Need data that doesn’t exist yet?

Post a request. Pick the task, set a reward for each accepted episode and fund the budget up front. Pilots find it on the request board and play it for you, and you watch the count climb. For a co-op scenario, the reward is per accepted team run, split across the seats.

Paid per episode. Shared per sale.

Ballot is a two-sided marketplace. Creators and pilots supply the worlds and the episodes. Funders and buyers pay for them. Ballot sits in the middle: it hosts the worlds, checks every episode and runs the store.

What runs where.

Each headset draws the world itself, so looking around stays smooth. Only the robots’ responses travel over the network. A team shares one cloud machine, and a machine runs only while someone is in a session.

What Ballot never changes. Ballot runs your simulation as you wrote it. It never adjusts physics settings, controller gains, what an action means, task rules or time limits to make something pass. If something doesn’t fit, preparation tells you what and why, and any change is yours to make.
