How a request works
Create a request
The example numbers are only an illustration, not a suggested price. With them, the most pilots can earn is 625 × US$4.00 = US$2,500. Hosting and Ballot’s fee are shown separately before you pay.
Paying for a request
You pay the full bounty up front. Payments will be processed by Stripe. The budget is reserved for your request, and pilots are paid from it only when episodes are accepted. When the request closes, because it reached its episode count, hit its closing date or you closed it, any unspent budget is refunded to your original payment method. Card processing fees may not be refundable.Which episodes are accepted
An episode is accepted when it passes two checks:- Ballot’s automatic checks. The recording is complete and valid, and the attempt meets the request’s rule, such as “the task reported success”.
- Your review. You can reject an episode that passed the automatic checks, with a reason, during a review window. Episodes you don’t review in time are accepted automatically, so pilots aren’t left waiting.
Team requests
A team request funds a co-op scenario, where each pilot controls a different robot. It works like any request, with three differences:- The reward is per accepted run, not per episode, because the whole team plays one run together.
- The request sets the split across seats. Equal is the default; you can weight seats, for example to pay a harder seat more. Pilots see their share before they join.
- A run is accepted or rejected as a whole. Each pilot is then paid their share. If an optional seat stayed empty, the pilots who played share its part.
How pilots get paid
- Pilots connect a payout account through Stripe, which verifies their identity.
- Earnings from accepted episodes are paid out in batches, not instantly.
- Paid requests will be open to eligible adult pilots in supported countries.
What you get
Every accepted episode from your request, with its full recording, replay and attribution. Before you fund a request, you’ll see whether and how its episodes can be offered to other buyers. See Revenue share. What we won’t promise yet
- specific fees, prices or earnings
- instant payouts, or payouts in every country
- full refunds, because payment processors keep their fees
